苏州大学本科生毕业论文苏州大学外国语学院本科毕业论文2018届The Comparative Analysis of Children's Literature Translation in theLight of Skopos Theory:A Case Study of Two Chinese Versions ofCharlotte's Web目的论指导下的儿童文学翻译对比分析一以《夏洛的网》为例专业:英语翻译姓名:张燕指导教师:王晓伟论文提交日期:2018.04i苏州大学本科生毕业论文AbstractThis thesis intends to discuss why skopos theory could be applied to children'sliterature translation by comparing two Chinese versions of Charlotte's Web.Skopostheory was initiated in Germany in 1970s with three stages of development,whicheventually formulate three rules:skopos rule,coherence rule,and fidelity rule.Itproposes that translation purpose determines your translation action.What's more,itprovides a new angle of view in translation,which helps translators to avoid thedilemma whether use liberal translation or literal translation.Charlotte's Web is a piece of classic children's literature,which was written byE.B White who was a famous American writer and a world federalist.He has writtenthree books for children and Charlotte's Web is the most popular one.Although thereare several Chinese versions of Charlotte 's Web,two of them are most influential,oneis Ren Rongrong's and another is Kang Xin's.Their styles are quite different fromeach other because Ren's translation is concise,vivid and more colloquial whileKang's is more elegant.In the light of Skopos theory,this thesis will make acomparative analysis of the two Chinese versions from three rules of skopos theory tofind out that Ren's translation is more suitable to children and Kang's is more suitableto adults.The thesis consists of five chapters:the first chapter briefly introduces theresearch background,purpose and significance of this study.Chapter two is literaturereview which expounds children's literature and children's literature translation.Andthen Charlotte's Web and its two translations are introduced.Chapter four of thisthesis will compare two translations of Charlottes Web in the light of Skopos theoryfrom its three rules and investigate which is more suitable to children from lexicallevel and syntactic level.Chapter five makes the conclusion.Both of the two Chinese versions apply skopos theory to their translations whichindicates the pragmatic use of Skopos theory.Key words:Skopos theory,children's literature translation,Charlottes Web苏州大学本科生毕业论文摘要通过对比《夏洛的网》两个中译本,本文旨在讨论目的论可应用于儿童文学翻译的原因。目的论于二十世纪七十年代在德国首次提出,之后经历了三个阶段的发展,最终形成了三个原则一一目的原则,连贯原则以及忠诚原则。它提出翻译目的决定翻译行为。不仅如此,它提供了翻译新视角,有助于译者避免陷入选择意译或直译的矛盾中。《夏洛的网》是一部经典儿童文学,由埃尔克·布鲁克斯·怀特所写,他是美国著名作家和世界联邦拥护者。他曾为儿童写过三本书,其中《夏洛的网》最受欢迎。尽管《夏洛的网》有几种中译本,但是其中两种最为著名—一种是任溶溶的译文,另一个是康馨的译本。他们的风格迥异因为任溶溶的翻译简洁、生动形象、且更为口语化:而康馨的则更为优雅。本文将通过目的论从词汇和句法方面对比分析两个中译本,总结发现任溶溶的翻译更为适合儿童,而康馨的译本更为适合成人。本文包含五个章节:第一章简要介绍了研究背景,目的和该研究的意义。第二章是文献综述,阐释了儿童文学和儿童文学翻译。之后又介绍了《夏洛的网》和它的两个中译本。本文第四章将通过目的论的三原则对比《夏洛的网》的两个中译本并且从词汇和句法方面探究哪一个更适合儿童哪一种更适合成人。第五章对前面的四章内容做出总结。两种中译本虽然目的不同,但都于译本中应用了目的论来实现他们的目的,体现了目的论的实用性。关键词:目的论、儿童文学翻译、《夏洛的网》
